We are the leading trade association for the UK’s offshore energy industry, giving a voice to over 400 organisations and businesses throughout the country. Our membership is open to all companies from the largest producers and developers, to contractors, consultancies and the smallest start-ups.
Back the
North Sea
We will need oil and gas for decades to come. The only question is whether we produce it here, supporting British jobs, communities and tax revenues, or import more of it from overseas.
Right now, the UK imports more than 40% of its energy. Those imports support jobs and tax revenues elsewhere, not here. Our offshore workforce keeps that energy flowing every day, while building what the transition needs.
The public agrees. In an Opinium poll of over 2,000 people, taken in the days before the change of Prime Minister, 71% said the UK should produce as much of its own oil and gas as it can. Just 8% said it doesn’t matter where it comes from.
By backing North Sea oil and gas instead of imports, we protect the jobs we have, secure the investment the transition needs, and keep more value here at home.
